which, as this banner hanging in the local YMCA proclaims, “builds
strong kids”. The monetary support by donors to this campaign
provides financially challenged youth and families with access to
YMCA programs and the opportunity to participate through skill
development, contact with positive role models and counseling in
employment and life skills. Involvement in these programs has been
proven to build character, self-esteem and a sense of
