Penni Boxall, President, Sure Flow Equipment
As President of Sure Flow Equipment, I take great satisfaction in watching our team go ‘that extra mile’ for our customers.
I was recently reminded of how important this is when my husband, our two dogs and I embarked on our first two-week vacation. We’ve been married for 19 years. I haven’t taken two consecutive weeks off in longer than that.
We set out on our boat into the beauty of Georgian Bay. On day two of our journey we encountered rocks below the surface of the water, even though we were on a charted course.
Like so many of our fabricated projects, we couldn’t let a few obstacles stand in the way of achieving the goal.
Our journey did not end there, as we limped into a little town called Britt and were met by some very pleasant staff at the Marina.
They were busy on Wednesday pulling another boat out and doing repairs for someone who had come in on the weekend.
On Thursday, they attempted to haul us out. They had two large skid steers hooked to the trailer, but it didn’t work, despite their best efforts, as our boat is very heavy.
They then contacted one of their other marinas and the next morning they showed up and towed us seven hours to another beautiful little town, called Carling Bay.
We settled in for the night and the next morning, on a Saturday, they hauled the boat out.
We certainly did find the hard spot in Georgian Bay as it turned out we took out two props and bent one shaft.
Just when we thought we would have to pack up, they installed a stub shaft and put us back in the water, so we could enjoy the boat and finish out our vacation until the new parts arrived.
They were so kind and even drove my husband an hour to pick up our vehicle.
We had our tender (dinghy) with us, so we were able to get out on the water exploring. We even took it into Parry Sound where all 4 of us had lunch and then went to the used bookstore.
On the Thursday the dogs were getting a bit antsy, so we asked if there was a cottage we could rent until Sunday. As luck would have it there was one just up the hill from the marina.
It was lovely with all the amenities, and we were still able to use our tender and paddle board.
We were lucky to find people on our trip that were willing to go the extra mile to help us out and that were good at thinking outside of the box.
These are the same qualities that make our Sure Flow Sales Team so exceptional!
