One of our former employees recently passed away.
George King was and will always be an important member of the Sure Flow Family.
George started his tenure in 1994 as CFO/Controller, a position he held the entire time he was with Sure Flow for 19 years.
He was the driving force behind our ISO program as well as CTPAT, and countless other procedures that we still adhere to.
George’s British sense of humor always made you pause and wonder, was he joking or serious?
His passion for sports, especially football (soccer as we know it), hockey and of course his beloved golf, was unrivaled.
George attended many of the Canadian Women’s Olympic hockey events, as well as golf events with his wife Joyce, and Sure Flow founder and CEO John Wordsworth and his wife Janet.
George was the driving force behind the annual Sure Flow golf tournament that was a great team building activity for many years.
George was always soft spoken, even when situations became stressful. He was fair, kind and patient.
George’s love for his family was unbounding, it was clear he adored them, and they adored him.
I consider George one of my mentors and he is part of the reason I have had success at Sure Flow. We did not always see eye to eye in the beginning, but he was determined to help myself and Sure Flow grow.
George you will be missed, and always fondly remembered.

George and John were great supporters of the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team, and loved watching the games.
Here’s George (far right) at a Golf Tournament where the proceeds went to the Canadian Women’s Hockey, and we’re pretty sure that second from the left is Walter Gretzky, a well known name in Canadian hockey.
